SAMARITAN’S PURSE IN SUDAN
Samaritan's Purse began working in war-torn Sudan in 1993, providing emergency food, medical care, and other life-saving assistance in response to the plight of African tribespeople in South Sudan and the Nuba Mountains. After the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement in 2005, our teams started rebuilding churches in dozens of communities throughout South Sudan. Reconstruction teams are based in Yei, Maridi, Rumbek, and several other sites across the region.
Samaritan's Purse also has been active in food and medical programs in East Sudan, has implemented agricultural programs in the Nuba Mountains, and has built more than 40 schools in south Darfur and East Jebel Mara. We are ministering to suffering people in Darfur through a program that is feeding over 125,000 people per month.
